On Release

Clover Collector has been released!

It's amazing how much work can go into such a simple concept, and how badly I wish I could have gotten this out by St. Patrick's Day.. but here we are!

I've linked the Devlog above if you want to see the process, but the concept of the game was meant to be a simple point and click search and find game where you had to look for a Four Leaf Clover. So, mechanically it was simple but then I wanted to spend time embellishing the look and feel.

Initially, I tried to make the game in Unreal, but had a lot of setbacks due to my time restraints and HTML limitations. I really didn't think I could achieve the feel I wanted with 2D Sprite, but I'm over the moon with the results.

I have a strong desire to continue finessing the feel of the game and adding more features, story telling elements, and interactivity. I'm not sure if I will, due to the time as I'm already started my next Video Game Concept. However, if the desire is there from all of you, then I will be happy to dive right back in!

At the bottom of this post I will outline features I would love to add and I will be reading the comments looking for more great ideas! Happy playing everybody and I hope you have a great time!

Features Want List:

  • More Clover Varieties
    • Potentially Dynamically Generated Pixel Art Clovers

      • Hints are consumables and the amount of hints are based on Difficulty Levels.
      • Hints could be aquired through randomg game events like capturing glowing Navi-Like Fairies?

  • Ambient Wind Animations
    • More than just the undualting x,y.. something that can breeze through the clovers causing a subtle wake of movement
